  1. Can you build Battery packs to my spec?
In regards to NiMh cells, yes we can pretty much accomodate any cell configuration, such as all side by side or split with wire links. Also various connectors can be fitted.

  2. I was told to get this part. It is not on your site!
Sometimes we take products off of our site as we know it will be out of stock for a while or we have discovered it is not a good product.
We welcome good and feedback of exceptional products. We only try to sell good quality products. We are racers ourselves and if something is generally not good for us then it is not good for you. We run Demon Products as a business but also because we have a passion and we enjoy racing. Where is the fun in running something you do not enjoy.

  3. Do you sell brushless motors that are BRCA legal now?
Pretty much any brushless motor that falls below the price of £74.99 is now BRCA legal. This now includes the Novak SS range as the prices have been cut. However use of the upgraded 13mm rotor is NOT allowed as per BRCA rules. Also the fixed endbell type may not be legal, as they are supposed to be rebuildable to check for modifications.

  4. What is the best way to charge and store my new EP or NiMh Cells in general?
Charge at 5 to 6 amps. 20 to 25mv cutoff for pack. They should be quite warm at end of charge. Always race with warm cells. Always charge on day from flat for max performance. You can let cool after a race and recharge when cool for a later race without any loss of performance. No need to discharge after 1st race. At end of day discharge batteries on an equaliser, even to flat (0V). But then or later ,if possible, put a little charge back in, say 20%, before storing. Most cells tend to discharge when nearly flat.

  5. Can I use my normal Nicad / NiMh charger with my 7.4V LiPo Battery?
Definatley NOT. You WILL need a specific LiPo charger that does NOT charge above 8.5 - 8.6v absolute maximum. 8.4v is the normal cut off range. Any higher voltage may cause the pack to expand and damage it.

  6. I am after a specific part for my Car. Can you help?
Yes but do your investigations first for the correct part number. Parts are no longer ordered without some payment first. Parts are normally obtained within the week, unless out of stock at the distributor.

  7. Can you send my IC fuel in the post?
    All fuel must be collected.

  8. The money has not come out of my account yet!
No money is taken from your account until just before the goods are dispatched. The price will be adjusted down if an item is out of stock. Also consolidated orders may save on the postage charges.

  11. What do the figures mean on the matched cells?
The top numbers are run time in seconds to 0.9V(at bottom). The voltage at top is average over 300 secs (at bottom). Next line is 5.0amps charge, 20 amps discharge, Then the 2 digits are the internal resistance. The 3rd line has capacity during charge, but that figure can vary a lot depending on time since last charge and will not give the true value of the capacity of the cell under discharge. Then the 1.54 or similar is the peak voltage reached at full charge and should always be consistent for matching etc.. So overall we try and match run time, while checking internal resistance and peak voltages are all OK. Also the charge capacity should be checked to be close.

  12. Do you have any recommendation for a starting temp and can you put the heaters on wet tyres with additive? Or do you not need additive with heated tyres.
You should not use additive in the wet on wet tyres. We heat the wet tyres at about 50deg C and race with them dry. Other tyres(not wets) you put on additive and bake them at 60 to 70degC. Wipe clean with about 5mins to go before your race and lower temp to 45 - 50 until race. Unless very cold (0deg) then set around at 65deg C. I normally do not start the race with them too hot or they can grip roll or squirm.

  14. What is the difference between the DL5000 and DL3600 LiPo packs?
In short, the DL5000 has a higher capacity but lower C rating at 20. The DL3600H has a lower capacity but higher C rating at 25. A pack with a rating of 25C will have a higher discharge rate and be able to deliver more power if needed.
